[INFOGRAPHIC] COMPREHENSIVE INFORMATION ABOUT CORONAVIRUS

As of April 10, 2020, COVID-19 has infected over 1.6 million people worldwide causing 95,000 deaths.

In light of the spread of this pandemic, Home Clean Home Inc. would like to help spread valuable information on how and where it really started.

We have posted a comprehensive infographic about COVID-19

On December 31, 2019, the World Health Organization (WHO) received reports of the presence of pneumonia, of unknown origin, in the city of Wuhan, China. Quickly, in early January, authorities in this country identified the cause as a new strain of coronavirus. The disease has been spreading to other continents such as Asia, Europe and America.

There are confirmed cases of coronavirus in almost the entire world, including China, Europe (with the first outbreaks in Italy and Spain), Iran, the United States, Africa, Australia and LATAM. The World Health Organization (WHO) and the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) have declared the virus as a world pandemic. That is why travel has been restricted and many countries have closed their borders, to try to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) is a respiratory illness that can spread from person to person. The virus that causes COVID-19 is a novel coronavirus that was first identified during an investigation into an outbreak in Wuhan, China. A family of Coronaviruses was discovered in 1960 SARS coronavirus (SARS-CoV). Was identified in 2002. First infected humans in the Guangdong province of southern China.

WHEN AND WHERE COVID-19 WAS DISCOVERED

DECEMBER 2019

  •  A novel coronavirus designated as 2019-nCoV first appeared in Wuhan, China.

  • Whistleblower Dr. Li Wenliang sent a message to a group of other doctors warning them about a possible outbreak of an illness that resembled severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS), urging them to take protective measures against infection.

  • Chinese authorities accused him of “spreading rumors” and arrested him. He later succumbed to COVID-19 at age of 34.

JANUARY 2020

  • Chinese Scientists isolated a novel coronavirus (CoV) from the patient groups in Wuhan. The outbreak is believed to have started at a local seafood/wild animal market in Wuhan.

  • First recorded international case outside China was reported in Thailand on January 13, 2020

  • WHO designated the novel coronavirus outbreak as Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC) on January 30, 2020.

MARCH 2020

  • The WHO officially declared COVID-19 a pandemic

APRIL 2020

  • The pandemic arrives in America and Latin America

HOW COVID-19 IS TRANSMITTED

  • Between people who are in close contact with one another (within about 6 feet).

  • Through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes.

  • It may be possible that a person can get COVID-19 by touching a surface or object that has the virus on it and then touching their own mouth, nose, or possibly their eyes, but this is not thought to be the main way the virus spreads.

WHAT ARE THE SYMPTOMS OF COVID-19?

KEY FACTS ABOUT COVID-19

  • No direct scientific proof that warm weather or sunlight can kill the virus

  • Someone who has completed quarantine does not pose a risk of infection to other people (Resource 7)

  • Symptoms may take up to 14 days to appear after exposure to the virus

  • Wearing masks will not completely protect you from the virus. However, it is necessary to wear masks if you experience symptoms such as cough or a runny nose

  • There’s no evidence that regularly using a saline rinse will prevent infection with COVID-19

  • Holding your breath for 10 seconds as a self-check on whether or not you have COVID-19 is a MYTH (Resource 10)

  • Drinking alcoholic beverages will not provide any protection against COVID-19

  • In fact, as of March 22, 194 people died in Iran from bootleg alcohol as they believe it can cure the coronavirus.

  • Isolation is the most viable and medically proven way of preventing the virus from spreading
